Concepts Of Healing: Pathogenic Microorganisms

In the category of pathogenic microorganisms are included viruses, bacteria, fungi and protozoa. These may be found outside the body on the skin surface and the mucosal surface or inside the body in the blood, tissues or EM. The human body is a tube within a tube held in shape by bones. The outer tube is the skin. The inner tube is the alimentary tract. Both start with the lips and end at the anus. Everything outside the skin is obviously outside the body. However, most people do not realize that the material inside the digestive tract is also outside the body. Inside the body is in the blood, the tissues or the EM. Most of the pathogenic microorganisms live in the blood, the tissues or the EM according to their ability to withstand the defenses of the body. This is different for every pathogenic microorganism. Many are found on the outside of the body on the skin, the mucous membranes of the eyes and urogenital tract, the membranes of the mouth, pharynx & lungs and the membranes of the gastro-intestinal tract (alimentary tract). Some are found in the blood, urine and feces. Few are found in the tissues. Viruses inhabit the various cells of the body

This work is not about topics in communicable diseases, it is about regeneration. The reason that these microorganisms are pathogenic is that they cause disease in the body. There are many other microorganisms that inhabit the body which are not pathogenic and assist the body in many ways. Thus, in order to assist the body in the regenerative processes, it behooves one to cultivate these beneficial microorganisms. As the pathogenic microorganisms are found virtually everywhere, it is your ability to withstand their adverse metabolic substances and their ability to breakdown your tissues for their nutrition that allows you to remain healthy. The beneficial microflora assist in keeping the pathogens at bay by producing specific anti-microbial substances, cofactors and vitamins that your body needs. Most of these microorganisms are found in the gastro-intestinal (G.I.) tract. You cultivate them in the last portion of the small intestine and in the large intestine.

In Japan, after the Second World War had ended, the U.S. Army conducted studies on the effects of the atom bomb on the survivors of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and environs. One study concerned the reason why certain individuals died while others did not die. It was found that those persons that ate traditional Japanese foods tended to survive while those persons that ate a Western diet tended to die. Those that died did so usually as a result of some type of pathogenic microorganism entering their body through the eroded alimentary tract. Radiation kills quickly dividing cells in greater abundance than slowly dividing cells. The mucosal cells of your digestive tract are rapidly dividing constantly in order to replace those cells eroded away by the foods you eat. Thus, these cells died and were not replaced in sufficient time to keep the pathogens from entering the body. As not much was known about the immune system in those days, the conclusion was that the beneficial microflora in the traditional Japanese diet conferred survivability. The Western diet is found to be severely lacking in beneficial microflora. It was the beneficial microflora and their anti-microbial substances, cofactors and vitamins that had saved the persons that ate the naturally pickled foods of the traditional Japanese diet. The Japanese housewife made her own pickled vegetables to feed her family. None were preserved or the microflora killed before consumption. Naturally fermented/pickled vegetables will do the same for you! Canned, frozen and otherwise preserved pickles of various vegetables will not be as beneficial as the microorganisms are not alive to colonize your G. I. Tract. The limited amount of viable substances in preserved foods in quite limited. Learn to make your own pickled vegetables just like Grandmother used to do! It takes a little time but it is not a difficult task. Also, make sure that you get enough of the water soluble vitamins- the B vitamins! If you are not allergic to yeasts, eat supplements made from Brewer's yeast or the various soy based yeast powders. If you are a vegetarian, make sure you get your Vitamin B12. These are all substances produced by microbial fermentations that we derive benefit from.

Many viruses need certain amino acids in order to make their protein coat that encases their RNA or DNA (hereditary material). You may temporarily unbalance the amino acid pool such that it makes it more difficult for them to do this. Take a lot of the amino acid Lysine, it seems to help to provide this unbalancing effect. It works for the flu and cold virus.

The only real means of assisting in the regenerative processes is to boost the effectiveness of the immune system. It is the immune system that keeps you healthy by riding the body of the pathogenic microorganisms.
